Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Standard bass/streamer hook, 1/0-6
  • Thread Red 3/0

Materials

  • Bucktail wing (bottom) White bucktail (1 bunch)
  • Bucktail wing (top) Red bucktail (1 bunch)
  • Flat tinsel body Silver oval tinsel (1 strand (optional))

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and lay a base to mid-shank.
  2. Optionally wrap a flat silver tinsel body and return the thread to behind the eye.
  3. Tie a bunch of white bucktail on top of the shank as the bottom wing, about one and a half hook-lengths long.
  4. Tie a bunch of red bucktail directly over the white as the top wing of the same length.
  5. Build a smooth red thread head.
  6. Whip finish and cement the head.
