Reference Recipe
- Hook 3XL-4XL streamer hook, #6-10
- Thread Black or olive 6/0 (140 denier)
Materials
- Lead or lead-free wire (underbody, optional) Grey lead wire (10-12 turns)
- Marabou (tail) Olive / black / brown marabou (1 plume)
- Krystal Flash Pearl / matching flash (4-6 strands)
- Marabou (body) Olive / black / brown marabou (1-2 plumes)
How to tie it
- If weighting, wrap 10-12 turns of wire over the middle of the shank and lock with thread. Start the thread and run it to the bend.
- Tie in a marabou tail one to one-and-a-half shank lengths long at the bend, keeping it slim.
- Add a few strands of Krystal Flash over the tail, the same length.
- Tie in one or two marabou plumes by the tips at the base of the tail.
- Wind the marabou forward in touching turns, stroking the fibers back after each wrap, to build a soft, mobile body; tie off behind the eye.
- Build a small head, whip finish, and add a drop of cement.
