Put an Umpqua tarpon hook (#1) in the vise and wrap thread back to the hook point (all tying happens forward of here).
Tie in two matched marabou quills (tips aligned, about 1.5in) as a tail at the hook point, wind the thread forward and back over the butts for a smooth, bump-free base, and trim.
Tie in the cord of the folded palmering chenille (15mm) and palmer it forward in close, non-overlapping turns to just behind the eye, stroking the fibers back and not trapping them.
Take a couple of loose wraps, then build a fairly thick, flat-sided thread head behind the eye (a flat platform for the eyes) and whip finish.
Glue a 6mm eye to each flat side of the head with gel super glue.
Coat the head with UV resin/epoxy and cure to finish.
