Start black thread just behind the eye, leaving room for a thread head, and lay a foundation of thread back to the barb, then back up to the start.
Tie in the sparkle braid a couple of eye-lengths behind the eye and wrap it back to the barb in tight side-by-side wraps to form a smooth belly base; return the thread to the front.
Wind the sparkle braid forward in tight side-by-side wraps, pulling firmly every three or four wraps to lock it, stopping about two eye-lengths behind the eye. Tie off underneath and trim.
Tie in the white arctic fox wing (about half a pencil's worth) at full length; first comb out the underfur, then trim the butts at an angle so they build a tapered thread head as you lash them down.
Double a few strands of rainbow Flashabou around the thread, bring it to the top of the shank and wrap back toward the wing; spread it with a thumbnail so it veils over the fox, then trim it about a quarter inch past the wing.
Tie in the olive thin raccoon over-wing (a little less material than the fox), combed out, trimming the butts at an angle; use a loose trapping wrap then tighten and work the thread to the eye and back to cover evenly.
Optional: lay a small clump of barred Senyo's Predator Wrap on top as a darker back. Tie it in reversed then fold it back over itself so the slick synthetic can't pull out; comb through to blend.
