- Hook Wet fly / standard hook, 12-16
- Thread Orange 8/0
Materials
- Krystal / crystal flash Pearl or to match flash (body)
- Copper wire Fine (rib (optional))
- Partridge or hen hackle Natural partridge (1 feather, collar)
- Dubbing To match dubbing (small thorax)
How to tie it
- Start thread and run to the bend.
- Tie in a couple of strands of Krystal Flash and wind them forward as a flashy body to the 75% mark; tie off.
- Optional: counter-rib with fine copper wire in 4-5 turns for durability.
- Build a small dubbing or thread thorax at the front.
- Tie in a partridge or hen feather by the tip and take 1-2 sparse turns for a soft-hackle collar; sweep the fibers back.
- Whip a small head and cement.
