  • Thread Black UTC 70 denier

Materials

  • Mirage tinsel Pearl, medium mirage tinsel (1 strand (body/rib))
  • Marabou Black marabou (1 short plume (tail/body))
  • Hen's Spectra dubbing Bright green (93) hen s spectra dubbing (1 pinch (thorax))
  • Hen hackle Black hen hackle (1 (collar))

How to tie it

  1. Start the black thread and wrap a slim body, then rib/cover it with medium pearl Mirage tinsel wrapped down and back.
  2. Tie in a short (about 1.5-inch) black marabou plume for the tail, wetting the tip to keep it slim.
  3. Build a slim body forward with the marabou and return the thread to the thorax.
  4. Wrap a thorax of bright-green Hen's Spectra dubbing behind the eye.
  5. Tie in a black hen hackle and take two turns for a soft collar, sweep the fibers back and secure.
  6. Build a small head, whip finish and add a touch of varnish.
