Tyer Recipe
- Hook dry fly / standard, 12-16
- Thread tan 8/0
Materials
- body Tan/brown crust accent (dry-fly dubbing)
- wing Mottled brown pectoral fins (turkey wing quill slip)
- hackle Brown hackle (1-2 dry feathers)
How to tie it
- Start the thread and wrap to the bend.
- Dub a tan-brown body forward to about one-third behind the eye.
- Tie in a mottled turkey wing-quill slip as a tent-style down-wing over the body, reaching to the bend.
- Tie in and wrap a brown dry hackle collar.
- Trim the hackle flush underneath if desired to sit the fly low, then whip finish.
