Jungle cock (cheeks) Natural jungle cock (Two nails, tied fairly close to the tip so the eye stays small)
Head cement Clear head cement (A drop)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base along the shank; because this is a wool body it does not need to be fancy.
Tie in a small bunch of red saddle hackle fibers as the tail at the rear of the shank.
Tie in the Uni-Mylar rib at the tail, gold side out, then tie in the yellow wool yarn and bring the thread forward.
Wrap the yellow yarn forward. At the bump where the tail and rib butts are, pull tight to squish the yarn down and minimize the lump, wrap right to the rear so no black shows, keep it tight through the body and relax the pressure as you come off the bump. Tie off and trim.
Wrap the rib: one turn at the back, then spiral evenly forward; tie off and clip.
Tie in a black saddle hackle fiber throat underneath with a couple of turns and trim it to length.
Tie in four yellow-dyed grizzly hackles as the wing, then a jungle cock nail on each side as cheeks, tied fairly close to the tip so the eye stays proportionate. Check that the wing sits square.
Trim the excess butts, build a neat head, whip finish and add head cement.
