CDC feathers Light dun / cream cdc feathers (1-2 for hackle stacker)
Superfine dubbing Pale morning dun (pale yellow-olive) (1 pinch)
Monofilament Clear weed guard (short loop post)
How to tie it
Start thread mid-shank and tie in a sparse amber Zelon trailing shuck at the bend, one hook-gap long.
Dub a slim, tapered PMD-colored abdomen forward over the rear two-thirds of the shank.
Tie in a short clear mono loop pointing back over the body to anchor the hackle stacker.
Tie in the tips of one or two light-dun CDC feathers at the front and dub a small thorax ball behind the eye.
Sweep the CDC rearward, then pull the mono loop forward over the thorax so the CDC fans into a low canopy in the film; bind and clip the mono behind the eye.
Whip finish a small head and touch the wraps with cement, keeping it off the CDC.
Trim any fibers below the hook so the abdomen hangs into the surface.
