Pinch the barb on a 3X-long streamer hook. Start white 140-denier thread and lay a full base back to the bend to cover the hook colour, then take open wraps forward to about a fifth of the shank behind the eye.
Catch in the large Pearl tinsel there and bind it back to the bend in close turns, which also thickens the white underbody so black thread does not show through and kill the pearl.
Wrap the tinsel forward in touching turns, catch it off at the front, and whip finish the white thread so you can change colour.
Start black 140-denier thread. Tie in a couple of strands of peacock herl and bind them back far enough to leave room for the flash and wing ahead; wrap the herl forward to the thread, tie off and break off the ends.
Catch in six strands of krystal flash on top with a couple of wraps, then fold the forward ends back so all six lie on top of the shank, not underneath. Snip them just past the bend of the hook, where the wing will end.
Tie in a medium tuft of marabou on top as the wing, ending about level with the flash. Spin the bobbin clockwise to cord the thread, put in a couple of tight wraps, then snip the butts.
Bury the butts in a generous streamer head, whip finish toward the back of the head, and drop on head cement.
