Classic Recipe

Materials
- Tail Green hackle fibres (short)
- Rib Gold tinsel (4-5 turns)
- Body Green floss ('Highlander' bright green) (tapered)
- Hackle Green hen (beard/collar)
- Wing Bright green quill or dyed slips (pair)
How to tie it
- Start the thread and tie in a short green tail at the bend.
- Tie in the gold ribbing tinsel, then wind a smooth tapered body of bright green floss forward, stopping short of the eye.
- Spiral the gold rib forward in 4-5 even turns and tie off.
- Apply a green hen hackle as a beard beneath the shank (or a short collar).
- Set a matched pair of bright green wing slips low over the body; build a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
