How to tie it
Start blue dun UTC 70 on a barbless scud hook and bind red ultra wire down the full length of the body so the underbody stays even.
Rib forward with the wire, aiming for seven or eight even turns, then secure it and helicopter it out. On a thread-bodied fly the rib spacing is the whole look.
Tie eight to ten pheasant tail fibers in on top at the front, pointing rearward, for the wing case.
Wrap a strand of peacock herl for the thorax, tie it off and clean it up, leaving room in front for the gills.
Figure-eight the Uni-Yarn in so a gill tuft stands out on each side.
Pull the wing case forward over the thorax and gills, cinch it down tight, trim close, darken the thread with a marker and whip finish. Trim the gills to length and it is done.
