How to tie it
Start the olive thread and wrap a base back to the point of the barb at the rear of the curve.
Tie in the size 16 mylar tinsel at that point with the orange side up so the peacock side shows when it is wrapped forward.
Dub a slim body of Arizona synthetic peacock from the tail forward, tapering slightly thicker as you go, stopping at the two-thirds point of the shank.
Wrap the mylar rib forward in wide open turns to the two-thirds point, tie it off and clip.
Run a thumbnail or dubbing brush along the body to pull out fibers, then stroke them back so they lie along the body and trap air.
Tie in the golden pheasant tail slip at the two-thirds point, pointing back over the body, to serve as the wing case.
Dub a full, loose thorax of peacock Ice Dub forward, leaving plenty of room behind the eye.
Pull the wing case forward over the thorax and tie it down, then pick a few Ice Dub fibers out underneath as a throat.
Select a pinch of pheasant rump fibers, pull out the short ones, and tie the clump in on top with the tips reaching about to the back of the body; fold the fibers back and secure them with a few thread wraps, pulling out any short strays.
Build a neat thread head, then brush a light coat of thin UV resin over the head (and the wing case if you like) and cure it.
