How to tie it
Start thread near the bend and tie in a flashtail of magnum Flashabou reaching a full shank length past the hook to give the fly its length without added weight.
Over the flash, tie in a clump of white bucktail top and bottom as the base of the body, then a stripe of Flashabou.
Stack darker bucktail (olive/chartreuse) on top and a little white on the belly to build a perch-shaped profile; keep it sparse so the fly stays castable.
Build the head in stages: spin or lash clumps of white Laser Dub on the belly and chartreuse on top, packing and brushing each rearward to blend a bulky, water-pushing perch head.
Sweep and trim the Laser Dub head into a broad baitfish shape, wide at the top and tapered underneath.
Set a 3-D eye on each side of the head.
Whip finish at the eye, then lock the eyes and head down with a coat of clear UV resin and cure.
