Tail Greenish-yellow cock fibers (6)
Body Heron herl dyed yellow-olive (2-3 herls)
Rib Fine gold wire (4 turns)
Wing Starling slips, pale to dark (2)
Hackle Greenish-yellow cock (1 feather)
How to tie it
Start the primrose silk behind the eye and wrap to the bend. Tie in six greenish-yellow fibers for the tail.
Tie in the gold wire and two or three yellow-olive dyed heron herls at the bend.
Wind the herls forward as a slim body to the 70% mark and counter-rib with four turns of gold wire, counter-wrapping crosses the herl and stops trout teeth stripping it.
Tie in two starling slips upright and divided; Skues varied the shade from pale to dark to match the day's duns.
Wind 3-4 turns of greenish-yellow hackle behind and in front of the wings.
