Lead wire Natural lead wire (.030 (formed into eyes))
Ice Dub Pearl ice dub (small pinch (tail/eye))
Ostrich herl White uni stretch (2-3 plumes (body))
Pearlescent tinsel (medium) Pearl mylar tinsel (1 strand (rib))
UV resin Clear over black eye dot (as needed)
How to tie it
Lash a short length of.030 lead across the top of the shank near the bend with figure-8s to form barbell-style mysis eyestalks; leave the tiny lead tags exposed at the sides.
Cover the shank with a thin thread base and tie in a whisp of pearl Ice Dub at the bend as a stubby tail no longer than a hook gap.
Tie in a strand of pearl tinsel and 2-3 white ostrich herls by their tips at the bend.
Wrap the ostrich forward in touching turns to the eye to make a translucent, slightly fuzzy body, and tie off.
Counter-wrap the pearl tinsel forward in 4-5 open turns for a subtle rib and segmentation; tie off and trim.
Whip finish at the eye. Touch the lead eyestalks with black marker or UV resin dotted black to suggest eyes, then coat the front third with clear UV resin and cure.
