Lay a thread base of white UTC 70 along the shank and snip the tag.
Pinch off a small clump of Hareline Ice Dub Pearl, bind it down and wrap back to where the bend starts to drop. Pull the clump forward a little so the fibers sit even, then snip the tail to a taper about half a shank length long, not one straight cut.
Pick two or three of the narrower Hareline Ostrich Herl White fibers, bind the tips to the shank and wrap them back to the tail tie-in. Snip the tag.
Bind Hareline Pearlesent Tinsel Medium directly on top and wrap it back to the ostrich, so it starts about even with where the barb would be.
Snip a short piece of .030 lead wire, hold it perpendicular across the shank at that point and lock it down with figure-8 wraps, adding a couple of cross wraps for security. Bend the lead ends back slightly so there is room to work.
Wrap the ostrich herl forward to the wire, seat it with a turn tight against the lead, snip the stem, and trim the herl down around the wire.
Bring the tinsel forward, capture it square on top with a couple of securing wraps, then advance the thread to just behind the eye. Wrap the tinsel forward in even turns over the remaining shank, capture it behind the eye, and whip finish.
Go back in with scissors and trim the ostrich a little more around the wire. With an old pair of scissors, snip the lead to short stubs, just off the shank on each side.
Coat the front section where the tinsel is with Solarez Bone Dry, spinning the fly so it covers everything, and cure with the UV light.
Drop a ball of Loon UV Black onto each lead stub for the eyes and cure.
