Start the black Veevus 6/0 on the size 2 3XH/7XL streamer hook and tie in small silver oval tinsel for the rib, leaving it as long as the finished body will be and keeping it underneath the shank.
Tie in the large silver Mylar, then wrap the thread back to the hook point and forward again, keeping the tags underneath — turn a rotary vise toward you so you can see they stay there.
Take one turn of Mylar at the back, tight, then wrap forward in touching turns; if any black thread shows through, come forward over it again. Secure it at the head.
Counter-wind the silver oval tinsel over the body — one turn at the back first, then forward — and tie it off.
Bring the thread to the back and tie in a large clump of white bucktail on top, longer than the hook and left unstacked so the tips stay ragged and staggered. Turn the vise to confirm it is bang on top, then take a few hard wraps.
Add a similar-sized clump of olive bucktail over the white, cut slightly shorter.
Add the brown bucktail over the olive, shorter again. Shortening each successive clump is what lets the head slope off instead of sitting blocky. A couple of hard wraps to hold, then soft wraps at the back before coming forward.
Trim the butts at an angle, wrap and shape the head, whip finish and coat it with head cement.
