How to tie it
Wind the silver twist and yellow floss tag above the point, add the topping-and-crow tail, and butt with black ostrich herl.
Wrap the rear half of the body in golden yellow floss ribbed with fine silver; veil it above and below with toucan substitutes and butt again with black herl. The double-butted, veiled midpoint is the fly's hallmark.
Wrap the front half in black floss, palmering a natural black hackle down it and ribbing with silver lace and flat tinsel.
Wind 1-2 turns of guinea fowl as the throat.
Build the married wing: paired strips of bustard, mallard, golden pheasant tail, swan dyed blue and yellow, red macaw and peacock sword, married fiber-to-fiber, with a roof of bronze mallard over the top. Marry each side as a mirror image so the wing sits straight.
Add jungle cock sides with kingfisher cheeks, a golden pheasant crest topping curving to meet the tail, then form a perfect small head, whip finish and lacquer.
