Anti-static bag strip Pearl anti static bag strip (wing case)
UV dubbing Tan dubbing (thorax)
How to tie it
Slide a brown head turner bead onto a jig hook and start tan thread behind it.
Tie in three strands of brown olive Crystal Flash and trim them to about the length of the body for the tail.
Tie in one piece of copper brown wire, then build the tan thread body.
Flip the fly over and darken the top side with a marker. Colouring the back rather than dubbing a separate darker top is what gives a mayfly nymph its counter-shading without any bulk.
Open spiral the wire forward to segment the body, tie it off and helicopter it out.
Tie in a strip of anti-static bag for the wing case, dub a thorax of tan UV dubbing, pull the wing case over, tie off and trim.
Whip finish. Tie it jiggy style like this or on a standard hook; either way the TNA is one you want in the box.
