Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Largemouth Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Jig streamer hook, 2XL, 10
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Black or copper slotted tungsten bead (1, 3.3mm)
  • Marabou Black, olive, or wine (1 plume)
  • Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (4 strands)
  • Ice dub or leech dubbing To match tail (for body)
  • Marabou or schlappen collar To match marabou (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Seat the slotted bead at the eye and start thread behind it, base-wrapping to the bend.
  2. Tie in a marabou tail one and a half shanks long for a long, breathing leech tail; add 4 strands of pearl Krystal Flash over it.
  3. Dub a slim, tapered leech body forward to just behind the bead.
  4. Wind a marabou or schlappen collar 2-3 turns, wet the fibers and sweep them back so they pulse against the body.
  5. Build a small thread head, whip finish behind the bead, and add a drop of cement.
