Glue Loctite gel on the shank, Loon thin UV on the whip finish (as needed)
How to tie it
Load a slotted tungsten bead onto a Firehole 516 size 14, do it before the hook goes in the vice and you save yourself a stabbed finger, then mount it.
Start brown thread, secure the bead up at the front, and work back coating the whole shank in thread.
Lay a line of Loctite gel along the top of the shank. Microfibre chenille absorbs everything, superglue included, and that is what holds a mop on.
Snip a cream mop off the mop head and set it onto the glued shank, securing it up at the head and tidying the wraps. Leave an eighth to a sixteenth of an inch clear for the collar.
Spin a dubbing loop for the collar, lay the fibres in loosely, the buggier the better, and add a little more if it looks thin.
Wrap the loop in, a couple of wraps behind and a couple in front, snip the loop off and trim the fibres back so they are not over-long.
Spin a little Semperfli Ice Dub onto the thread and build it into the collar for flash.
Whip finish, run a drop of Loon thin resin along the top over the whip finish, and cure.
