Head Tan carapace (Senyo's Laser Dub in a dubbing loop)
How to tie it
Slide a brown head turner bead onto a Firehole jig hook and tie in pearl Flashabou followed by a clump of ginger marabou at the rear.
Twist the marabou into a rope before wrapping it. Twisting is what gives a marabou body a segmented, tapered look instead of a shapeless fuzz.
Wind the marabou rope forward, leaving a little bare space behind the bead for the head.
Open-spiral the pearl Flashabou forward, wiggling it through the fibers rather than crushing them, so it segments the body without trapping too much marabou.
In the space you left, build a dubbing loop of tan Senyo's Laser Dub and wrap it as a short head. Pinch the fibers to length, since laser dub runs long.
