  • Thread White 6/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Silver or gold slotted tungsten bead (1, 3/16" (4.6mm))
  • Mini marabou / bird fur tail Tan marabou (1 short plume)
  • Ripple Ice Dub body Mother of pearl (pinch)

How to tie it

  1. Seat the slotted bead at the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Tie in a short tan bird-fur or marabou tail just past the bend, about one and a half shanks long and sparse.
  3. Dub a thin mother-of-pearl Ripple Ice Dub body forward to just behind the bead.
  4. Make the head with brown Bruiser Blend on top for the back, then invert the fly and add cream/tan for the belly, giving a brown-trout-fry color scheme.
  5. Brush the head fibers back into a baitfish taper, then set a pearl eye on each side of the head.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead and lock the head and eyes under a thin coat of UV resin, then cure.
