Jigged Micro Meat

Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Jig hook, 12
  • Thread Olive or white 6/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Copper or silver slotted tungsten bead (1, 3.0mm)
  • Marabou Olive, black, or white marabou (1 short plume)
  • Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (3-4 strands)
  • Ice dub To match tail (pinch)
  • Soft hackle / schlappen collar To match saddle hackle (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Seat the slotted bead at the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Tie in a short marabou tail at the bend, no more than one shank length. This is a micro streamer, so keep it compact.
  3. Add 3-4 strands of pearl Krystal Flash over the tail, trimmed to tail length.
  4. Dub a slim ice-dub body forward to just behind the bead.
  5. Wind 2 turns of soft hackle as a collar, sweep the fibers back and pin them so they pulse against the body.
  6. Build a small thread head, whip finish behind the bead, and add a drop of cement.
