Tyer Recipe

  • Hook wet/scud hook, #12-14
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Shellback Pearl/holographic flash (1 strip)
  • Body dubbing Olive/tan body dubbing
  • Wire rib Copper wire
  • Oar legs Pheasant tail or goose biot (2)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and lay a base along the shank.
  2. Tie in a strip of pearl flashback and a length of fine wire at the rear.
  3. Dub a fat oval body forward to just behind the eye.
  4. Pull the flashback strip over the top and secure behind the eye.
  5. Counter-rib the wire over the back in 4-5 turns to segment; tie off and trim.
  6. Tie in one fibre swept back along each side as the oar-like legs.
  7. Whip finish behind the eye.
