Materials
Body Black tying thread or fine floss, slim and varnished. No bead/wire underbody so it stays light (-)
Rib Fine pearl or red holographic tinsel (5 in)
Thorax Peacock herl or red/black holo dubbing (small pinch)
Cheeks / spots Glo-Brite fluorescent floss or holographic tinsel, one small tuft each side (2 small tufts)
Breathers White Antron or poly, small tuft at head (1 small tuft)
How to tie it
Start the black thread and build a slim, smooth body from the eye down and around into the bend. Keep it thin and use NO bead or lead so the fly stays lightweight and fishes high in the water film.
Rib forward with fine holographic tinsel in 5-6 open turns to segment the body; tie off at about the 75% point and varnish the body for a wet-look shine.
Build a small thorax of peacock herl (or holo dubbing) over the front 25%.
Tie in a short tuft of Glo-Brite/holo tinsel on each side of the thorax as cheeks/spot target points.
Add a small white Antron breather at the head, whip finish behind the eye, and coat the thorax and head with a thin UV resin or varnish.
