Tyer Recipe

  • Hook wet-fly hook, #12-16
  • Thread Yellow or olive 8/0

Materials

  • Body silk/floss Yellow or olive body silk floss
  • Wire rib (optional) Gold wire
  • Soft hackle Partridge or starling (1)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and wrap a slim silk body from the eye to the bend and back.
  2. Optionally counter-rib with fine gold wire and tie off.
  3. Tie in a soft game-bird hackle by the tip at the head.
  4. Take 2-3 turns of hackle to form a sparse collar; tie off and trim.
  5. Build a small head and whip finish.
