Classic Recipe

• Hook Standard dry fly, 14-18
• Thread Olive or brown 8/0

Materials

• Shuck Antron yarn (trailing)
• Body Dubbed with guard hairs mixed in (rough)
• Wing Deer hair (short, tent)
• Head Dubbed ball (oversized)

How to tie it

1. Mount hook, tie in Antron shuck
2. Dub rough body
3. Tie in short deer hair tent wing
4. Dub oversized head
5. Whip finish

Substitutions

• Shuck instead of Amber Antron: Z-Lon (amber/brown) — Crinkled trailing shuck; Sparkle Emerger Yarn — A touch more flash
• Wing instead of Deer hair / Zelon: Snowshoe rabbit foot — Floats without dressing
