Materials
Post / indicator Hi-vis poly yarn (para-post / Poly Pro), fluorescent orange (or hot pink) (1 clump)
Tail Mixed grizzly and brown rooster hackle fibers (6-8 fibers)
Body Adams gray Superfine dubbing (or muskrat) (pinch)
Hackle One grizzly and one brown rooster dry-fly hackle, wound together around the post (2 feathers)
How to tie it
Start the thread and, at about the 70% point (one-third back from the eye), tie in an upright clump of fluorescent orange poly yarn as the parachute post; post it vertical with thread wraps at its base. The bright post is what makes this a visible strike 'indicator' version of the Parachute Adams.
Tie in a small bunch of mixed grizzly and brown hackle fibers at the bend as the tail, about one shank length long.
Tie in one grizzly and one brown hackle by the stems at the base of the post.
Dub a slim Adams-gray body from the tail forward to the post.
Wind both hackles together 3-5 turns horizontally around the base of the orange post (parachute style), then tie off and trim.
Whip finish behind the eye, taking care not to trap hackle fibers or bury the post.
