Start the cream thread about one eye-length behind the eye and reserve a 'no-tie zone' of roughly one hook-eye width right behind the eye.
Tie in extra-small copper wire on the near side, then lay one smooth layer of thread back to the bend and forward again for a two-layer abdomen.
Wrap the copper wire forward in open, even spirals to the front of the abdomen; lock it with a couple of thread turns and helicopter off the excess.
Cut about six inches of burnt-orange Antron yarn, knot one end and split the fibers into two halves either side of the knot; even and lightly moisten the ends. Tie one bundle on the far side and one on the near side just behind the eye, pulled back and locked on the top and bottom of the shank to form four wingbuds.
Build a slight thorax bump over the Antron butts, keeping it smooth.
Bring the thread right behind the eye, pull the Antron forward over the top and tie it down, fold it back and lock it, then whip finish (about four wraps) over the fold.
Clip the thread and Antron and add a tiny drop of thin head cement at the front.
