Reference Recipe
- Hook Curved scud/nymph hook, 16-18
- Thread Red 70 denier
Materials
- Tungsten bead Silver bead (1, sized to hook)
- Red thread (body) Red thread
- Fine flash or wire (rib) Pearl/silver flashabou (1 strand)
- Ice Dub (collar) Black or peacock ice dub (tiny pinch)
How to tie it
- Slide the tungsten bead to the eye and start the red thread behind it.
- Tie in a strand of fine pearl flash at the bead and wrap the thread back to around the bend.
- Build a slim, smooth, slightly tapered red thread body forward to just behind the bead.
- Counter-wrap the flash rib forward in 5-6 open turns to segment the body, then tie off and snip.
- Dub a very sparse black or peacock Ice Dub collar behind the bead, distributed evenly all the way around so it looks the same from every angle.
- Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of head cement.
