Materials
Bead UV+ bead (3.3mm Hanak UV+ tungsten)
Tail Indio Rihnon oscuro (Coq de Leon barbs)
Body Black pepper (hybrid squirrel dubbing)
Ribbing Red buzzer wrap (tinsel wire)
How to tie it
Slot the 3.3mm Hanak UV+ tungsten bead onto the ST319 jig hook and start black Sumo 30 denier thread behind it.
Tie in a short Coq de Leon Indio Rihnon oscuro tail at the bend and the red tinsel wire alongside it.
Dub a slim, slightly tapered body of black pepper hybrid squirrel forward to just behind the bead. Hybrid squirrel dubs finer than pure hare but still carries guard hairs, so you get a natural body without the fly turning into a mop.
Rib forward with the red tinsel wire in five or six evenly spaced turns and tie off. The wire both segments the fly and armours the dubbing.
Pick the body out lightly along the underside, whip finish behind the bead.
Swap the bead colour to suit the water. Vasies normally ties this with metallic pink beads and only used the UV+ bead here as an alternative.
