How to tie it
Seat the 4mm bead on the jig hook, take 5-6 wraps of.015 lead behind it, break off the ends, and push the wraps up into the bead.
Start the black thread, build a thread dam behind the lead, and taper thread up behind the bead so it cannot slide; add a tiny dab of super glue under the bead.
Strip about 8 speckled CDC fibers and tie in a tail one shank length long, binding the butts down to keep the body taper smooth.
Tie in the UV pearl synthetic quill body strand for the rib and set it back out of the way.
Wax the thread and touch-dub spiky dark hare's ear dubbing onto it, then wrap a thin but buggy body forward to just behind the bead; keep the profile slim so it sinks well.
Wrap the synthetic quill rib forward in open, evenly spaced turns and tie it off behind the bead.
Take a CDC feather with a thin stem, part the fibers, and tie it in by the tip behind the bead. Wrap it two full turns with hackle pliers, brushing the fibers rearward each turn, then tie off and remove the excess. Keep it sparse, webby, and untrimmed.
Take a couple of thread wraps back over the CDC stem to secure it.
Dub a very sparse collar of black UV dubbing over the tie-down area behind the bead, then whip finish and trim the thread.
