  • Hook Curved pupa/scud hook, 12-16
  • Thread Olive 70 denier

Materials

  • Caddis-green dubbing (abdomen) Olive-green dubbing (pinch)
  • Fine wire (rib) Gold wire (1 length)
  • Hare's ear dubbing (thorax) Dark natural hare s ear dubbing (pinch)
  • Hungarian partridge (hackle) Natural gray partridge fibers (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Start the thread and wrap back to the bend around the curve.
  2. Tie in the fine gold wire rib at the bend.
  3. Dub a slim, slightly tapered caddis-green abdomen two-thirds of the way up the shank.
  4. Rib the abdomen forward with 5 evenly spaced turns and tie off the wire.
  5. Dub a fuller, buggy dark hare's-ear thorax collar in front of the abdomen.
  6. Tie in a Hungarian partridge feather by its tip and take 1-2 soft turns so the fibers sweep back and reach the hook point.
  7. Stroke the fibers rearward, build a small head, whip finish and cement.
