Reference Recipe

  • Hook 2XL streamer/lure hook, 8-10
  • Thread White 140 denier

Materials

  • Tungsten or brass bead Silver bead (1, sized to hook)
  • Marabou plume (tail) White marabou (1 plume)
  • Flash (tail) Pearl flashabou (6-8 strands)
  • Pearl fritz / cactus chenille (body) Pearl cactus chenille (1 length)
  • Oval tinsel (rib) Silver oval tinsel (1 length)
  • Cock or grizzle hackle (palmer) White/grizzle (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the bead to the eye, start the thread and build a base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a white marabou tail one-and-a-half shank lengths long and add 6-8 strands of pearl flash of the same length for a baitfish flicker.
  3. Tie in the silver oval tinsel rib, a hackle by the tip, and a length of pearl fritz at the bend.
  4. Wrap the pearl fritz forward in touching turns to behind the bead and tie off.
  5. Palmer the hackle forward in 5-6 open turns, then counter-wrap the tinsel rib forward in the opposite direction to lock the hackle; tie off both and snip.
  6. Build a neat thread head behind the bead, whip finish and cement.
