Materials
Flat silver tinsel Silver oval tinsel (body)

Fluorescent floss or uni-stretch Green tag floss (tag)

Hen or cock hackle fibers Black hen hackle (throat beard)
Bucktail, black bear, or squirrel tail Black bucktail (sparse wing)
How to tie it
Start the thread behind the eye and lay a smooth base back to a point above the barb.
At the bend, tie in a short tag of fluorescent green floss and wrap two or three turns to form a small hot butt.
Tie in a golden pheasant crest feather over the tag so the tail curves upward, about one shank-length long.
Tie in a length of oval silver tinsel for the rib, then tie in flat silver tinsel and wrap it forward in touching turns to just behind the eye to form a bright body; secure and trim.
Spiral the oval tinsel forward in five or six evenly spaced turns to rib the body, tie off, and trim.
Turn the fly and tie in a sparse beard of black hackle fibers at the throat, reaching back to about the hook point.
Stack a sparse wing of black bucktail (or bear/squirrel) on top, extending to the end of the tail, and secure with tight wraps.
Build a small tapered head, whip finish, and coat the head with cement.
