  • Hook 2XL nymph hook, 12-16
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold (metallic) bead (One, sized to hook)
  • Tail Brown goose biots (Two, split)
  • Body Colored Ultra Wire (chartreuse, red or blue) (One length (small))
  • Collar Peacock herl (1-2 strands)
  • Wings White goose biots (Two)
  • Hackle Brown hackle (One feather)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the gold bead to the eye and start the thread behind it.
  2. At the bend tie in two brown biots splayed into a V for the tail.
  3. Tie in the colored wire and wrap it forward in touching turns to the 70% mark for a bright body; tie off and break the tag.
  4. Tie in peacock herl and take a few turns as a collar behind the bead.
  5. Tie two white biots flat over the top in a shallow V so they lie back over the body.
  6. Wind a brown hackle in 2 turns behind the bead as a collar, sweep the fibers back, whip finish and cement.
