  • Hook Standard or jig nymph hook, 12-14
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Hot orange or pink (metallic) bead (One, small)
  • Tail Black, olive or wine marabou (A few fibers)
  • Body Matching pine squirrel or fine dubbing (Short strip or noodle)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the small hot bead to the eye and start the thread behind it.
  2. Wrap to the bend and tie in a slim marabou tail one shank length long.
  3. Tie in a thin pine squirrel strip (or dub a thin body) at the base of the tail.
  4. Wrap or dub the body forward to just behind the bead, keeping it slender, and tie off.
  5. Stroke the fibers back, whip finish behind the bead and cement.
