Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard saltwater/streamer hook, 1/0-4
- Thread White 6/0
Materials
- Body Pearl braid or Mylar tubing (Full shank)
- Belly White bucktail (A sparse pinch)
- Flash Pearl and holographic flash (A pinch)
- Wing/back Chartreuse or olive bucktail (A sparse pinch)
- Gills/hot spot Red flash or thread (A few fibers)
- Eyes Adhesive stick-on (Pair)
- Head UV resin (As needed)
How to tie it
- Start the thread behind the eye and wrap a base back to the bend.
- Tie in pearl braid at the bend and wrap it forward in touching turns to just behind the eye for a flashy body; tie off.
- Flip the hook and tie a sparse pinch of white bucktail as a belly, extending about half a shank past the bend.
- On top add a pinch of pearl and holographic flash, then a sparse pinch of chartreuse or olive bucktail as the back, matching the flash length.
- Add a few red fibers at the throat as gills, then build a smooth tapered thread head and whip finish.
- Press a stick-on eye to each side and coat the head and eyes with UV resin, cure, for a durable baitfish head.
