foam (extended body, top layer) Blue, 2mm (thin strip)
round rubber legs Blue/black barred rubber legs (2 pairs)
hackle Grizzly hackle (1)
poly yarn or CDC (wing) Light dun poly yarn or cdc (small tuft)
How to tie it
Start thread. Stack a black foam strip under a blue foam strip and bind both at the bend, letting them project one-and-a-half shank lengths past the hook as a two-tone extended body (dark belly, bright back).
Bind the paired foam down the shank forward to the 60% mark.
Tie in a pair of rubber legs on each side at the thorax, splayed.
Tie in a short poly or CDC wing flat over the back and a grizzly hackle at the thorax.
Wrap the hackle 3-4 turns through the thorax and tie off.
Fold the blue foam tab over the thorax for a head, bind at the eye, whip finish, and cement.
