  • Hook streamer/wet (4x long), 8-12
  • Thread black 6/0

Materials

  • flat tinsel (body) Silver oval tinsel (one length)
  • bucktail or calftail (underwing) Yellow bucktail (small bunch)
  • mallard flank (wing) Natural mallard flank (2 feathers)
  • jungle cock (cheeks, optional) Natural jungle cock (2)
  • hackle (collar) Grizzly hackle (1)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and wrap a smooth flat silver tinsel body from the 70% mark back to the bend and forward again; tie off at the 70% mark.
  2. Tie in a small bunch of yellow bucktail flat over the back as the underwing, reaching the bend.
  3. Tie a mallard flank feather along each side, curving inward and tented over the body, tips to the bend.
  4. Add a small jungle cock eye on each side as a cheek (optional).
  5. Tie in a grizzly hackle and wrap a collar of 3-4 turns; sweep the fibers back.
  6. Whip finish and cement.
