Materials
- foam (twisted body) Tan, 2mm (one strip)
- dubbing (underbody) Tan dubbing (pinch)
- deer hair or synthetic wing Tan/natural deer hair (small bunch)
- round rubber legs Dark golden stone (2 pairs)
- poly yarn (indicator) Fluorescent pink poly yarn (small tuft)
How to tie it
- Start thread and tie in a strip of tan foam at the 30% mark, projecting to the rear.
- Dub a thin tan underbody back to the bend and forward again to the 30% mark.
- Twist the foam strip into a tight rope and wrap it forward over the underbody in segmented turns to the 65% mark, building a tapered body; tie off.
- Tie in a deer-hair or synthetic wing over the back, tips reaching the bend.
- Cap the thorax with a short second piece of foam for the head, leaving a stub over the eye.
- Tie a knotted rubber leg on each side.
- Post a small tuft of fluorescent pink poly yarn on top as a sighter.
- Whip finish under the head and cement.
