Reference Recipe
- Hook hopper/stinger (2x-3x long), 6-10
- Thread tan 6/0
Materials
- foam (body) Tan, 2mm (one strip)
- round rubber legs Tan/barred rubber legs (2 pairs)
- poly yarn or deer hair (wing) Tan elk hair (small bunch)
How to tie it
- Start thread and lay a base along the shank.
- Bind a tan foam strip at the bend and along the shank to the 30% mark, leaving a short stub tail.
- Fold the foam forward over the top and bind at two points to form a two-segment body, stopping at the 70% mark.
- Leave a foam lip projecting over the eye and trim it into a small blunt/cupped face so it pushes water and pops.
- Tie a knotted rubber leg on each side, front and rear, splayed out.
- Tie in a short poly or deer-hair wing over the back for visibility.
- Whip finish under the head and cement.
