  • Thread Tan 6/0

Materials

  • Foam body Tan/yellow closed cell foam (2 layers 2mm)
  • Under-body flash/dubbing Tan dubbing (small)

  • Indicator foam Orange foam strip (small tab)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and lay a base along the shank.
  2. Tie a tan foam strip down at the bend and segment it forward with thread wraps to form the body, leaving a short tag at the bend.
  3. Tie in a pair of barred rubber legs on each side at the mid-body.
  4. Stack a small clump of elk hair and tie in as a downwing over the body, tips to the bend.
  5. Fold a second foam strip forward over the thorax to form a bullet head and tie down behind the eye.
  6. Add a small orange foam indicator tab on top for visibility.
  7. Set the front legs, build a small thread head, and whip finish.
