deer hair (hump and wing) Natural deer hair (1 clump)
hackle Grizzly hackle (1)
hackle Brown hackle (1)
How to tie it
Start thread at mid-shank. Tie in a sparse bunch of moose hair for the tail, one shank long, binding back to the bend.
Tie in a strand of holographic tinsel at the bend and wrap a bright thin underbody forward to the 60% mark; leave the thread there.
Tie in a clump of deer hair at the bend by the cut butts, tips pointing rearward over the tail.
Fold the deer hair forward over the top of the shank to form the raised hump and bind it down at the 60% mark, leaving the tips standing up; divide and post them upright as the wing.
Tie in the grizzly and brown hackles behind the wing.
Wrap both hackles through the front third in 5-6 turns, tie off behind the eye, and trim.
