Body Bucktail (white belly, olive/gray back), reverse-tied (4-6 stations)
Flash Pearl or silver Flashabou (6-10 strands)
Eyes (optional) Stick-on eyes in resin (1 pair)
How to tie it
Start at the bend: tie in the first bucktail clump conventionally, tips back, 3-4 shank lengths long, with some flash.
Move forward a quarter shank. Tie the next bucktail clump in REVERSED, tips facing forward over the hook eye, distributing hair evenly around the shank.
Take 2-3 thread wraps behind the clump's base, then fold the hair back over itself and lock it with wraps in front; the reversed hair flares into a hollow cone that gives huge profile with almost no material.
Repeat reverse-tied stations every quarter shank, each clump slightly shorter, blending belly white below and darker back color above.
Finish the final station just behind the eye, whip finish with GSP, and cement.
Optionally glue stick-on eyes to the head with a dab of resin. Trim nothing. The taper comes from staging the clump lengths.
