How to tie it
Optional: dub a tiny fluorescent-orange egg sac right at the bend to imitate the egg-laying female.
Dub a slim pale-yellow body forward over the rear two-thirds of the shank.
Clean and stack a small clump of bleached elk hair; tie it in as a low downwing with the tips reaching to the bend (one shank length), butts trimmed at an angle.
Dub a small PMD thorax bump over the wing butts.
Tie in the barred ginger hackle and wind just 2-3 sparse turns through the thorax - Lawson tied this one lightly hackled so it sits low in slow water, then tie off and whip finish at the eye.
