How to tie it
Start the 3/0 prewaxed thread. Cut the foam strips about half the hook gap wide. For the Egg Sac, cut a small angle on the end of the Black Razor Foam so the thread catches, tie it in at the rear, go back and catch the wider part, crimp it down, then double the foam over onto itself and bind it; the doubled sac adds float.
Dub a little of the Antron Fur Blend right in front of the egg sac to start the underbody; only a little, because the foam goes over it.
Cut the end of the 4mm Fly tying Foam at an angle for a buggier look and tie it in right in front of the egg sac with a couple of tight turns, then add turns in front to anchor it; it wobbles all over otherwise.
Tie in one section of EP Fibers at the back, really tight.
Tie half a length of Sili Legs on the near side, not tight yet so it can still be moved, then flip the hook and tie the other half on the far side. Position both, then a couple of tight turns to anchor.
Dub a very thin, sparse noodle and run it up between the legs, then lift the materials clear and dub the rest of the body forward. Leave room for the head.
Before pulling the overbody down, cut a piece of Razor Foam at a slight angle and tie it in at the head position as the collar; trim the excess.
Pull the 4mm foam overbody forward and tie it down with tight turns. Cut the rest away, leaving a little for the head.
Tie in another section of EP Fibers for the wing and cut the excess off.
Pull the Razor Foam collar over the head, take a couple of turns, and cut the excess. Tie in a second set of Sili Legs, one each side, fairly loose so they can be adjusted.
Dub a little more to clean the fly up, holding the legs out of the way, come up in front and whip finish at the eye with about five turns; the whip at the eye makes it more solid.
Trim the wing at an angle to a little past the bend while the fly is still in the vise. Take it out, cut the leg loops, and trim the legs to matching lengths front and back.
