Z-lon or Microfibetts Amber/dun z lon or microfibetts (shuck/tails)
Superfine dubbing Mahogany/reddish brown (body)
How to tie it
Start thread at the 70% mark; stack a clump of dun deer hair and tie it in upright, then fan it in a 180-degree arc across the top of the shank for the comparadun wing, one shank tall.
Wrap thread to the bend and tie in a sparse amber Z-lon shuck (or a few split Microfibett tails), half a shank long.
Dub a tapered mahogany-brown body forward, building a slight bump against the wing base to prop it upright.
Figure-8 dubbing in front of and behind the wing to lock it standing straight up.
