Tyer Recipe

  • Hook standard dry hook, #14-#18
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Dubbing Black/cinnamon (for two body segments)
  • CDC feather Dun/natural cdc feather (1-2, for wing)
  • Hackle Black or dun rooster hackle (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and dub a rear abdomen ball at the bend.
  2. Advance the thread and tie in a CDC wing lying flat over the body, tips reaching the bend.
  3. Wrap two or three turns of hackle at the waist between the body segments.
  4. Dub a smaller front thorax segment in front of the wing.
  5. Whip finish behind the eye.
