- Hook standard dry hook, #14-#18
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Dubbing Black/cinnamon (for two body segments)
- CDC feather Dun/natural cdc feather (1-2, for wing)
- Hackle Black or dun rooster hackle (1 feather)
How to tie it
- Start thread and dub a rear abdomen ball at the bend.
- Advance the thread and tie in a CDC wing lying flat over the body, tips reaching the bend.
- Wrap two or three turns of hackle at the waist between the body segments.
- Dub a smaller front thorax segment in front of the wing.
- Whip finish behind the eye.
